I am cutting the outside of a circle that is sloped from top to bottom. I am using 3D ramp which cuts the part down to the bottom perfectly but then comes back up to the top of the part and starts cutting a circle on the top of the part. I have included a couple of images.

You might be able to control this using heights but be easier to help if you can export the file as an f3d and attach. Also you might want to try Bore from the 2d menu.
