Freedom Machine Tool wood router with Fagor control queston

Hi,

I am currently using vcarve software to control my Fagor powered "Freedom" cnc router.  I am looking for something more robust.  Does anyone know if there is a post processor for fusion 360 that works with my router?

Thanks

There is a Fagor generic post HERE

As always, posts can always be massaged to produce the code you need. Sample proven code and a list of accepted G and M codes would go a long way in guiding you in the proper direction

@Tryingmybest -
I am working on one for a freedom router currently with a customer. What fagor controller do you have on your machine? The one I am doing is an 8055

Any luck with that fagor controller for the FMT?

I have a 4x8 Patriot router with a Fagor 8035 controller and ATC.  I'm able to mess around with the post for the 8055 a bit but i'm pretty green.  I got the machine to home ok, thanks to AtMan's youTube channel but I really need to figure out how to get the tool change working with tool offsets and all that G43 D(TOOL#) etc...  Also given that it's a router it would be great to be able to add an ORG statement which I currently use for Aspire.  Don't make me go back to Aspire!

Any help or update would be appreciated, Thanks.

I will post the one I currently have but if you have one that you have started modifying go ahead and attach it and I can review and update with tool change and ORG for you to test.

Hi all,

I am using a Fagor 8037M control on my Freedom Patriot 4x8 cnc router with a A.T.C and a 4th axis.  I spoke with Scott this weekend and my fingers are crossed that we can get a post for this machine.

Thanks for your time,

Dave

Thanks Matt,

It might be awhile before I can get to it, but do you think it would work with the 4th axis?

Oh nice.

We might have some issues. For now maybe have a look at the post from Aspire to the FMT.  Noticed the

G51 E.01
G43 D2

these are key.

Also, the spindle speed has to come before the rotation direction like:

S12000 M3

Thanks, see attached.

Ok I have a new cps file if you don't have something newer.  I seem to be stuck at arcing and getting G3s when I should be getting G2s.  I can't believe it's taken this long to get something working i'm ready to throw in the towel. is there someone who just does this for a living that I can pay.  arg.

I haven't quite gone dark on you; I just am able to do the posts when and if I have time.
You can get in touch with Tad Whitchurch at Hagerman and company or Derek at P9 CAM.
I apologize for all the time wasted and I wish it wouldn't have taken this long. Contact the 2 I told you about and let me know if you have any other questions.

Yeah i'm working with someone now on the post and will upload it when it's actually working.  No sense wasting anyone else's time on this.

Hi,

Will this be a 4th axis post by any chance?

Thanks

Since i'm now paying to have this done the short answer is no but i'm sure it'll give you a much better starting place then what is currently available.

For sure,

How much will this cost you? If you don't want to share that info I understand.

Try the above for any FMT that is newer than 2013 (Running the Fagor 8037 will work with the above)

For older than 2013 try using below

If anyone runs into issues please feel free to get in touch with me directly at [email protected]. I am based in Colorado Springs, CO at the DMS/FMT factory.

Thanks everyone,
