Feb 2025 Forced Update

Is anyone else REALLY struggling with the latest (forced) update? Previous version was very stable. This new update is bad.

I have errors on a continual basis driving me insane. Literally every few minutes, another error which is killing workflow and productivity. This is happening across multiple projects. Anyone else?

Some of the list of issues since update:

Regular crash & forced closure

Save failure

Failing Toolpaths

Toolpaths not generating visuals

Rest Material generation errors

"Internal Error" appearing in the bottom right all the time

Post failures

Would you be able to share your Fusion file here?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d/.f3z file in your reply.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues. If you share a file here, I'd like to look at it and see if these issues are reproducible

Seth, I always get a chuckle out of many of the autodesk employee's posts, but seriously?

Just use Fusion.

Day to day there are all kinds of issues.

Do you have a different version that operates differently than the "normal" persons?

Just open an old drawing and watch the dimensions blow up. Or open an old assembly and look at all the broken tool paths. Or a multitude of other things.

Things that have been broken for years have gotten worse with the migration.

All of these things have been shared, more than once with Autodesk employees on screen shares and phone calls. Most are not new.

Well, not being able to access tool libraries, machine configurations or templates is new as of my migration today.

I won’t load customers IP to a public forum.
There is no point, the issues are apparent in EVERY project I am trying to use. Thank god I use Solidworks for CAD or my business will grind to a halt. Why do these updates get forced on users without thorough testing? Super frustrating.

Id be surprised your servers aren’t blowing up with crash reports, just from me!

@M&GToolWorks yes, seriously. I too use Fusion on a regular basis for my own machine shop (side hustle). I use the same version that you are using, but it's likely I have a different workflow and use case.

I'm on your side, as my sole job is Customer Advocacy - Manufacturing. If there is reproducible data, we can escalate issues and poke developers as needed to get issues resolved.

@alexA22LK totally understand about not sharing data to the forum. If you wish, my email is open: seth DOT madore AT autodesk DOT com

No one can help you with an example file, since obviously it is not a widespread issue.

You can delay updates for 14 days if you're in the middle of something.

Please click "Accept Solution" if what I wrote solved your issue!

All of the issues are reproducible. I pulled up the file I made 3 years ago and showed in a call to the then "Head of CAM" in England. Still has the same issues. The issues with drawings is well known and documented. CAM data issues, tool paths, and the myriad of bugs are well known. I've shown numerous issues to numerous Autodesk employees. I wasted hours upon hours, thousands of dollars of my time, because my machine shop is not a side gig, it is how I feed my children, showing autodesk the issues, many, most? of which are still not fixed.

They are aware.

But they are more concerned with constantly implementing new things that don't work. Like sheet metal. Or teams hubs.

This forum has been a great help, but 90% of the help is workaround hackaday problem solving. Like Fusion not recognizing models, not recognizing stock, and there being no good way to machine a batch of parts. Lots of work arounds. Lots of "workflow" instead of the program working.... like it should.

So when I lose an entire day, now going on two entire days, because Fusion is broken, because I was forced to migrate to something I didn't want, and none of my tool libraries are accessible, so I can't program, and my machine configuration isn't accessible so I can't post, I don't really want to read "if you show us the problems we will get it fixed".

Ok, let's start here. If I'm reading this right, it sounds like you did the Team Hub migration and moved from Single Member to Team? And as a result, you can't locate all your tools and your posts/machines, is that correct?

@M&GToolWorks If that is the case, this article lays out where you should find them. TL/DR; we pull them out of your Single User hub and put them in a folder in your Team Hub. You then will need to move them from that folder into your Assets library

Yes, I followed the instructions:

"Once you have upgraded, then you can simply move/copy the contents into the existing Assets library."

The other instructions I was provided states:

"They will then be added automatically to the Cloud Tool Libraries and shown in the cloud section of the Fusion Tool Library shortly."

Which they don't.

Not minding the fact that the two instructions contradict each other.

A) Do you have Cloud Libraries enabled?

B) Do you have this folder in your Hub:

Yes to all the above?
What is in the Assets library?

Yours might be different, but here is mine for example:

Yes to all the above.

That is about what my asset "library" looks like.

According to another discussion when migrating you have to manually copy each file from each folder. This is not part of the migration process.

Give this a view if you have a moment or two

(view in My Videos)

The "assets" folder is everything related to Cloud Libraries. Posts, Tools, Machines, Templates, all of that is stored here.

Thank you for making the video. I would recommend Autodesk replace their instructions with your video. What was not stated in any of the instructions, or maybe I am just daft, was that I would need to manually move each file between the folders. Because.... 1990's technology would have migrated those. But... I've been out of the computer world for nearly 20 years. So maybe we can't do that anymore.

The other thread discussing this same issue, it was raised that they needed to be manually moved.

However my machine configurations still will not recognize or show. It someone still pulls the old, which I have no access to.

So, no access to Machine Configs, but do have access to posts/tools?

You say "it's pulling the old, which I don't have access to". Can you expand on that, perhaps with screen shots or a quick video?

(your mild sarcasm is well received, I often feel the same way)

I'll put something together with a picture or two to show the machine issue. Normally I wouldn't care, but Fusion now requires machine configurations to post? Forced utilization? I don't know, but it took me hours to get the machine configuration to work correctly with my post, so I definitely need that.

When I started the migration, if I was at the main hub (?) using the web browser, at the far right there is an icon with your initials. If I clicked on that, it showed two options. One was my single user account, another was the "team". I could switch back and forth between the two. As soon as the migration was complete, my single user disappeared. I cannot access it in Fusion or on the Web. I cannot look at it make sure everything moved.

I'm getting you some answers on the Single User, but while we wait, here's the deal with Machine Configs;

If you're using a 4 or 5 axis machine, most (if not all) of the post processors (for that control) have been combined into one post. Take the Fanuc post, for example. We used to have an Inverse Time, a non-Inverse Time 4x post, a 3x post, a 3/5 axis post. These are all combined into the single Fanuc post now and we strongly suggest users adopt Machine Configurations to send the proper info to the post processor. (it is possible to hardcode some behavior into the post, but I'd suggest against that)

If, on the other hand, you're just doing 3 axis work, a machine config is not needed.

Refresh my memory; what is your machine(s) and control?

Brother S1000 C00

My post and Machine Configuration are the only two things I keep local copies of. Fusion frequently looses connection and runs "offline" so having those local is necessary to keep working. For whatever reason, the local machine configuration is not considered local, but from the different hub. The same with the cloud variant.

Below shows the error I receive when attempting to use both the Cloud and Local.
