Engrave toolpath issue for inlays

I'm trying to use a 90deg vbit to create an inlay for some text. When I select the sketch profile and simulate the toolpath, the toolpath is offset inwards from the sketch profile whereas I need it to run along the sketch profile. Any ideas on what could be going on?
