I've read many of the solutions for this kind of problem but none seemed to address my setup, as simple as it is.

Where is a serious reference for selections that to ultimately generate toolpaths?

Briefly:  Cutting a u-shaped part, forks pointing up, so basically a 2-sided pocket.  2D adaptive works fine, leaving .02" stock.  Followup 2D pocket rest-maching gives me a no-passes-to-link error.

File is attached, much appreciation for any help.

The purpose (and the reason it's failing) of Rest Machining in the 2D Operations is to tell the toolpath to seek out radii and corners that are going to have material left over. Those don't exist on this part, so instead of just giving you a toolpath regardless, it fails. Turn off Rest Machining, as it's not doing anything for you 🙂

Ah, good, thanks. Stock deliberately left in place is not the same as stock
that is un-reachable with the given tool size.
I ended up following 2D Adaptive Clearing with a 2D pocket that assumes
.02" left over stock from the previous operation. I guess I did a manual
rest-machining 🙂
I think I ended up this way because I was having problems doing multi-step
lateral finishing cuts in the 2D adaptive clearing.
Is there a more succinct solution?
