EDITING EXPRESSION IN TOOL LIBRARY

Hi Everybody,

Is it possible to edit the expressions in the tool library cutting data and set as default as we can in the speed & Feed section of the toolpaths?

ie. to make plunge feed rate 25% of the cutting feedrate;

I can type 'tool_feedCutting/4' in the Ramp feedrate dialog box and fx will appear to denote an expression in use but how do I get it to stick, to set it as default?

You have to do it in the tool table, not the toolpath but yes it would be good in the toolpath.

@seth.madore Is this something that might get?

Possibly? Tagging @christopher.cooperVHK2N as he is the man that collects all tool library feedback 🙂

Thanks All, this behaviour has been documented and it is agreed that this is a great enhancement.

Hi @Fabbunny69 , sorry for the late heads up on this - so perhaps you already know, but we've released the ability to persist user expressions (so that the expression entered remains in place between tool library sessions) under public FF as of the May release! Please give it a go and let us know what you think

There is currently no mechanism to set a user entered expression or value, as the default. However, if you create a set of tools with your desired "defaults" that you then copy and paste to use as creating a "new" tool, this can achieve the same thing without much more effort than setting all the defaults and creating a new tool the standard way. Hopefully that description made sense, let me know if not, and any thoughts on that workaround as an approach.
