Do AUTODESK plan on providing proper post processors?

I was wondering if AUTODESK actually have any intention of providing proper multiaxis Post Processors for Millturn multiaxis machining centres such as the Nakamura-Tome MX100 or the DMG Mori NTX series? Not much point in purchasing this software if there is no support for this.

Considering we don't yet support 3d tooling import of Turning simulation, there's not a lot of value in offering post processors for these such machines.

That said, we're working on solving both these points in the coming year, so check back in and see what news there is from time to time 🙂

One clarification: our first public release of this functionality will most certainly not include the tools needed for an NTX style machine. Multi-channel is most definitely OFF the table for the foreseeable future

Its more just the basic post processor Im needing not one with full kinematics and collision checking. You have several Post Processors for Mazak Integrex i400's etc but nothing for other machine tool brands what was the value in offering those if you have no 3D tooling imports for turning? Im looking for something that will post G68 commands and the correct modal and M code setup prior to to the coordinates listed for cutting in a process. As things stand the Nakamura Tome Mill/turn post seems to be for a basic live tooling lathe or vertical/horizontal milling machine. For example on the Nakamura MX-100 to call up a tool and it's offset for tool 1 it would be:-

G340 T001001 A2

G342 B0. M785 I3 W1.

The current available basic post does not support this.

The posts we offer are based on our legal agreements with machine builders as well as what we're able to actually test and prove out. Beyond that, working with a reseller is your best solution, you can find a list of them HERE
