Hi guys,
I am trying to cut a custom scroll thread on a large tube. The grooves can be quite large on some of the parts i do. I would like to be able to program the thread/scroll using a smaller tool with multiple passes plotted around the geometry of the scroll arc itself, therefore giving a smooth (ish) bottom curve. Eg a 12mm radius groove using a 3mm button tool. This is to help stop vibrations from having a large cutting area in contact with the work itself. I know i am able to do this by sketching and using the geometry's from this to manually write a program using g32's and the geometry's from the sketch, but this is quite time consuming.
Is there a way i can do this on fusion, I don't believe thread function itself is powerful enough yet to have roughing passes that use different geometry's etc.
I hope this makes sense and you may be able to help.
ive posted below a link to the model of the part i am trying to cut and a screen shot also.
