creating boring bar and chamfering with square grooving tool

Hi,

I have two question. How to create borrinng bar for curve features to get a proper clearance from the stock, see pictures.

And second how it comes that now square grooving tool cannot make a chamfer, when round insert has no problem with it.

Hi @Anonymous,

The only custom holder setting you make is to set the Holder style to custom.

The custom shape you want isn't possible yet.

On the Ideastation is a custom shape of holder import published as a wish.

Single groove operations haven't a chamfer option.

You have to look for a workaround like creating chamfers on the adges within the Model environment and use Internal Groove operation and define the area you like to groove (incl. the chamfers).
