Copy NC Program

Is there a way to copy an NC Program or even create some kind of template from it that can easily be recreated on a new or existing part?

I create an NC program for every part I turn on the CNC lathe at the moment and it's quite tedious because it doesn't remember any of the settings, it reverts to defaults every time.

Right click on tool path you want to save and select store as template.

To use it again, right click on setup, select create from template and select from list.

Hi, thanks for your help but I'm not asking about a tool path, but an NC Program.

Well, the way it works, you save templates with defaults you set for repeated tasks and insert them into new projects instead of generating same thing over and over, then you post process resulting file.

Can you please show a screenshot of this? I honestly don't see that as an option.

Templates are one of the better kept secrets in Fusion. Select all the toolpaths you want to store as a "Template". This can be done by Shift+Click on first and last, or CTRL+click on select toolpaths. Right click and select "Store as Template".

When creating a new job, you can now, once you've made a Setup, right click and select "Create from Template" and go about reselecting geometry and defining heights. I'll toss up a ScreenCast showing the workflow in a bit (takes a while to upload and process)

Here's a Screencast showing the workflow

Well, you got something that relates to it pretty closely, and for me, managing NC program is not even something I expect from Fusion.

I manage NC programs by NC editor and plotter which is final filter before uploading to machine and managing tool for storing programs in right place on server after job is done.

NC Program is a built in feature of fusion 360. It allows you to save all of your post processor settings with the project and allows you to store different permutations of setups, coolant options, etc.

I guess I am using more conservative flavor of that and other tools do just fine for me, actually I prefer it that way, not dependent on internet connection and cloud.

I don't think you are talking about the same thing. In the interest of not cluttering this post with irrelevant information, let's not discuss other programs or methods not relating to my question please.

There is more then one way to do anything in fusion, and with Fusion, hope you get your answers.

Aw crud, I failed at reading the question properly, sorry about that. I don't think what you are looking to do is possible, but I know the person to ask, I'll poke them and see what they say

I agree.  I can copy and paste anything but a NCProgram.  It seems that should be possible.  I mean even with tool paths, there're certain things you have to change or select, which is would be the same case with NCProgram.

Mainly for me, when a client or myself imports a revised model (stl), I copy everything over to the new model, being able to quickly do the same with the NC Programs would be great.
