confused by "lifting feed plane to topmost ramp" warning

i get this warning a lot and am not understanding the logic. Here's an example:

it looks to me as if the topmost ramp is starting at 0.2mm above the part/stocktop, so a feed plane 1mm above the part should do ?

I agree it looks like it should be fine. Can you share your part or recreate with the same values in a dummy part and attach it here?

@Steinwerks can't share the file but it's easy and quick to test: create a 1.5mm extrusion or cube, run a contour and put settings as shown above ... the warning message will ensue

Well the setting to fix it is not in your screenshot!

 

Change your Safe Distance on the Linking tab to .2mm.

 

Edit: really it should only have to be whatever your Clearance height is, so 1mm will also get rid of the error.
