Can you tap a hole twice on a Haas machine with Fusion 360?

What happens if I duplicate a tapping cycle on a hole in Fusion 360 and run it on a Haas machine? Will the machine/program clock the spindle so that it matches the first tapping cycle?

 

I am struggling to pass the thread go gauge on a carbon fiber/aluminum part. The thread gauge is tight with a 10-32 tap H3 plug tap for a through hole and a #21 .159 drill. 

 

I will test this on a block, but wanted to see if anyone had the answer first.

as long as you have the repeat spindle orientation setting set correctly on the controller, yes. Just ensure your start Z is always identical.

we drill 10-32 with a .161 for cut.

Make sure setting 133 on your mill is turned on. Rigid tapping is "standard" on newer machines, but depending on the age of your mill, it may not be. 

 

PS. You can also peck tap using this setting, if the need to do so ever arises.

How did you get the controller to accept a peck tap cycle? Even our 2021 NGC wont run them. We have to do 2 toolpaths.

I use the "tapping with chip breaking" on Fusion, and have on the post config screen, I turn on use peck for tapping.

It should post out as a G84 with a Q value on the NGC. If you are on a Classic control, I am unsure of how fusion posts it, as the mills I program/setup are all NGC.

What software version are you on? (I am on version 100.25.001.1111)

 

The Q value only works on the newer software versions from my understanding. If you deselect the "use peck for tapping" Will it post it out like so?
