CAM: Form of stock

Hi everyone,

I have this piece:

Piece w stock.JPG

Detail.JPG

Piece side.JPG

The yellow part represent the stock (a block + opposite of the chamfer of the red piece).

I'd like to simulate the milling process of it (2D face + chamfer).

My question is: is it possible to create a stock of this form? I saw the option "from solid" but when i use it, with the yellow body selected as stock, it doesn't disappear when I create a simulation.

Thank you

(Sorry if my english is not perfect 🙂 )

If you really need to do it such a way - make extra body or component, including body with shape of your stock. Then make a copy of a model you work with  and combine then into one. If the part came to you in half finished state you can

go as described, but

It is easier to use parametric stock, and if you wanna see proper simulation with part machined from both sides - right click the entire Setups list and cycle thru them in order.
