C axis Programming for Haas CL-1

I have a new Hass CL_1 Chucker Lathe with live tooling, and fully syncronized c axis.

I want to engrave a part number on the out side of a diameter. in theory, although I dont have a y axis. I should be able to rotate my part on the c axis, and travel along my z axis to engrave. I am having trouble posting this. every time I do i get an error saying y axis not supported. I want to post this like on a rotary table for a mill. Can someone point me in the right direction. either for a post processor or maybe Im just camming it wrong. I dont know.

That post is likely not configured for C axis milling work. You would need to edit your post, unfortunately. You can try asking HERE for help, or contract it out to an independent reseller. If you do go that route, I strongly recommend SilverHawk, they've always treated me well, and are quite affordable.

Ok I found out that it has to do with my tool orientation.  If I cam it with my tool coming in on  the face (end of Part), It posts perfect. but with my tool coming in from the side, it defaults back to trying to use a y axis instead of the c axis rotation.  That being said, do you still think its in my post processor?  Or could it just be my camming strategy.

Did you ever get this resolved?  Its a bit unclear from your last reply.  I'm having a very similar issue where I'm trying to Face 6 flat sides around the part using the live tooling and C axis.

My I post code and run it, everything looks normal except it appears to run the operation from the front side instead of the back side where the live tooling is mounted.

I have tried changing the orientations and nothing seems to make it realize the live tooling is on the back side and not the front.

Amazing, and just like that a whole days worth of headaches yesterday vanish.  Thanks for the pp, I see you did a couple other changes to it suitable for the CL-1 such as switch the X & Z at the beginning and end of the post.

Nice work.
