BUG: Profile finishing with stock to leave don't work with "in control" compensation type.

Hi,

profile finishing with stock to leave don't work with "in control" compensation type.

Please see attached project and two turning operations.

Both operations seems ok, toolpath looks ok on screen, and postprocess without problem but gcode from operation with stock to leave is identical to one without stock to leave (which shouldn't be).

Works ok with compensation set to "in computer".

I checked on few postprocessors- same thing

Hmmm, I do see what I think you mean, however I do think that it is correct, the software has been instructed to use "In Control" and "Stock to leave" so that it produces a G41 for any offset to be done at the control so everything AFTER the G41 command remains the same and would be offset at the control.

The cutting moves BEFORE the G41 do change with the "Stock to leave" and stock is left in that area.

A little confusing at first glance but the "Stock to leave" is working in the "In Control" mode, so you would have stock left BEFORE the G41 command as per your settings in Fusion and stock left AFTER the G41 command as per your settings in your control.

Hope that made some kind of sense, re-reading it doesn`t sound right to me and I wrote it 🙂 🙂 🙂

Regards

Rob

Also have the same problem, If i set stock to leave 0.25mm in a profile finishing, and turn on Compensation in control, the gcode generated will be with 0 stock to leave, and G42 active, this will result in a part with "finished dimensions", so i belive what is happening is that when you activate "in control" it belives that you only are supposed to use the comp. tab in your machine (the milling section works like this to if iam not wrong) however i do not belive this is the correct way for the lathes to work, it might be a pure "builtin" Post-processor fault

I believe that when using "In control" compensation then this is only applied to finishing passes by design.

I may be mistaken but I don`t see anything that needs fixing, can you upload a file that you are having a problem with for it to be looked at by one of the experts. please.

Go to :  File > Export > Select f3d file and attach to your reply.

Your "Outer Radius" is not the proper selection. The way Fusion sees it, is that there's no material there. Instead, either select this edge or give an offset to "Outer Radius"
