Bug in newest Fusion 360 update - manufacture - tool list drop down

Two problems with the tool list drop down:

1. The minor problem is that the tools are not sorted. The tool drop down is completely useless if I have to manually search for the correct tool number.

2. The big problem, the actual bug, is that it no longer consistently displays the correct tool in the toolpath window.

Could you share:
1) Steps to reproduce

2) The file itself.

If you're not comfortable sharing the file here (understandably), you're welcome to send me the file: seth DOT madore AT autodesk DOT com

Please also reference this thread so I understand the context of the email.

And yes, sorting is intentionally not implemented for the time being.

Sorry, I can't give you the file.

I have had a little time to poke the problem some more. As far as I can tell, it is only affecting the flat endmills. If I open any toolpath that uses a flat endmill it displays the first flat endmill in my tool list for that job instead (T21).

I tried creating a flat endmill with a lower tool number (1, then 11, then 20) and it didn't change anything. Restarting Fusion also changed nothing. Though any toolpath with T1 consistently displayed the correct tool.

I changed T21's tool number and T21 with the new tool number was displayed instead of the correct tool.

Can you easily reproduce this issue in a dummy (sample) file and share that here?

Thank you for the sample file. I think I was able to reproduce the issue and have logged CAM-63812 to investigate.

I'm having this same issue. I'm actually not quite sure the purpose of the drop down menu. It was fine before, selecting tools from the library. Now, I select a flat endmill from library or drop down list and the selection doesn't stick. I have an ATC so it's a real problem. I have to go in and manually edit the gcode with the correct tool number after post. For a single operation, this is not such a big deal, but when you have multiple operations, you have to hunt through all the code.

Can y'all fix this asap please! It's been over a month now.

Thanks

There shouldn't be any issue with selecting a tool from the library. Can you show us this behavior in a video so we can better understand what you're seeing?

As to the purpose of the dropdown; it was supposed to be a quick entry point into selecting a document tool rather than having to open the tool library.
