Automatic Corner Slowdowns

AKA Feed Optimization

 

Is this a function of a post edit or is it Fusion driven? Trying to implement it in a part and it doesn't seem to be doing anything when I post it out, holding one feed across the board.

 

If I can't get it to work, it's not a HUGE deal, as the Fanuc control does allow for that calculation, it just is going to screw up my other programs that already have the slowdowns programmed in (customer supplied programs)

Yeah, it was. Looking through every tooltip in that dialog, it seems that every option is set as it should be. Scratching my head wondering why it ain't slowing down

It works is you set the rad to 0.301 but it seems to ignore Only Inner corners.

I totally spaced it. HSMWorks had this same issue. UNcheck Inside Corners Only. It will ignore outside corners entirely for feed optimization.

I see what I did wrong. I was understanding the "minimum inside radius" to mean that anything over that would force a slowdown. It's anything UNDER that radius.

@HughesTooling yeah "Only Inner Corners" does nothing it seems. All outside rads have the slow down as well

I believe the minimum inside radius is the smallest radius the centerline path the tool follows can have before a slowdown. Usually a .01-.03 value is a catch all for any radius close to the cutter size.

What were your final settings that got feed optimization to work? I've tried a number of different settings with large and small corner parameters, checked and un-checked "only inner corners" and still can't seem to get feed optimization to generate any slower feed areas.

 

Additionally when I have feed optimization enabled it seems to cancel my finishing feedrate on finishing passes for the operation and do all passes at the roughing rate. When I turn it off I get a proper finishing feedrate again. Any ideas?
