Are there different g code languages

I'm pretty new to g code and plasma cutting.

My latest issue is using different cam program to turn the dxf into a txt g code the plasma cutter can read.

My work uses fastcam (which they've been having issues with when it reads the dxf.) but as I'm wanting to cut parts for my car I'm hoping to use fusion or an open source program so I don't have to go through my boss every time I want to cut something.

I have tried some of the post process that fusion offers but non have worked when been plugged into the plasma.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Need more information? Links to some good info because my research has turned up nothing.

Hi @jordanbobsmith ,

What machine are you using? And what controller does your machine have?

It is possible we have something close... knowing the above two things would be helpful for us.

Thanks,

Will Watkins

the plasma its self is a hypotherm. the controllers only identification is f2300ax its a chines unit. the link below is the same unit.  any point in the right direction might help. hopefully it can lead to the company taking on fusion 360 and doing more drawings in-house .

Hi @jordanbobsmith ,

Have you given the post processor on our download site a try? It should be setup to support plasma machines. I have linked it below.

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks,

to answer your initial question, yes. Mazak has a 3 digit G code when it outputs from Mazatrol.

what controller does it use?

I just tested that on my own Mac (and PC) and I'm not seeing the issue downloading that file. It does default to the Downloads folder, but that shouldn't be a stopper for you. Can you expand a bit more into what you're running into?

so update. had another crack at post processing on fusion. just followed one of the youtube videos for the plasma. saw theres actually a hypotherm option so used that. and it worked. well sort of. first next issue is that it gives a warning that the kerf is to large... but the main issue i had was each cut not being the correct distance from each other. photo to show what i mean the part in the photo is meant to be symmetrical

screen shot shows the issue. but it doesn't matter anymore because the hypotherm jet was already in my post processor options.
