Approach & retract turning profile problem

When setting Approach and retract to first and last tool path, I'm getting something very strange.

Yep, I see what you're talking about. It's interesting that it feels it needs to go back to the start and cut....nothing?
In a bit of my testing, it somehow seems related to the tooltype. If I duplicate the toolpath and then assign a VBMT tool to it instead, it generates as expected.
We've opened a ticket for this and will investigate closer.
