Any way to get tabs on different 3d levels ?

this seems to be a recurring problem with almost all objects i create, when all the machining is done and i'm doing the final contours to cut out the objects i always face the problem of not being able to use simple tabs since the object has different heights. Here's an example:

as you can see i run into problems here because the tabs function only works on one level, what 'd really want here is to have pretty thin tabs centered on the objects height at that particular point.

Something like this would be cool:

is there a way to do this in fusion ? Would be nice if i could use points in 3D space to specify the location of tabs not only on a 2d level projected dow to the bottom machining level.

Sorry no the tabs in Fusion are strictly from the bottom of the part up.

How would you hope to machine the part contour under a tab that did not start at the bottom?

this touches on a problem i often have when machining asymetric 3d parts where i want a final cutout operation with tabs ... usually the other operations are not aware of where the tabs will be so what i normally do is to model actual tabs and position them where the cutout tabs from the contour operation will be in the end so that i can use adaptive clearing, or other roughing strategies with parallel finishing and still have stock left where the tabs will be.

so what would be really cool in Fusion is to be able to set up the tabs at the setup level (not at operation level) so that all operations in a setup with tabs would take the tabs into account and still keep everything parametric without the need to model dummy tabs. this way one could use any 2d or 3d operation and the tabs would then automatically be interpreted as avoid geometry. to set up the tabs one would simply select points or an edge chain on the model surface or 3d sketch points.

i think i'm going to put this into the idea station but will try to clarify the concept further first but does that make any sense so far ?

I have the same problem. It would be nice if there was a way to put tabs at different heights along the side of an object when needed.
