Another Text Question/Problem

Hello

I have been using F360 for sometime now and I have almost given up on getting good results with text. I just created a sample block to engrave sample text into the part.

When I try to engrave the text with a 1/16 spot drill the tool plunges to deep had give poor results. I just watched a tutorial on engrave function. The tutorial advised that the tool height would be adjusted in the Z so the tool would not plunge to deep and distort the text.

I really need to be able to engrave text on a cylinder by using my mills A axis. I don't even want to attempt that because I can't get any results on a flat part.

I can't get any results

Can someone help ?

If you are using Single Line Text then it is often best to use the Trace strategy and you can adjust the depth of cut using the "Axial Offset" setting.

For the Box Type Text you can use the Engrave strategy and use the Bottom height setting under the Heights Tab to adjust the depth of cut, similarly you can use a Contour strategy and use the Heights Tab again, options of multiple depths etc, etc.

Just a couple of rough examples to maybe give you an idea or two 🙂 🙂
