Adaptive Clearing Specific Exit Point

I have an undercut feature that I want to rough with an adaptive style toolpath. I can't seem to get 3d adaptive to go into the feature no matter what I do. The 2d adaptive does exactly what I want it to do but at the end of the cut it retracts straight up which would break the cutter and ruin the part. Is there any way to get it to feed out from under the slot before retracting?

Ignore the weird thing at the top of the key cutter, for some reason fusion is doing that when I add shaft segments.

If you post your file I'm certain more help could be given, but 2D adaptive does have an "Exit Position" in the Linking Tab that has help notes about undercuts

3D adaptive does not appear to have this Exit Position callout though

I can't share this part. I've tried to use the exit position option with various points and it doesn't change the output at all.

Hi @dlewis1000

You might need to add a sketch to have a point you can select that can be used as an exit position. Try and position this exit point as close as possible to the center line of your pocket. Use the entry as a guide: If the toolpath can enter there it should also be possible to exit at that position. Also, make sure that the 'stay-down distance' is hight enough for the move from the end of the pocket back to the start.

I hope this helps.

Someone in the fusion discord server solved this one for me. The one thing I hadn't tried is selecting the same point for predrill, entry, and exit. Then it worked. I'm not sure why it would need all 3 selections. The entry point doesn't change at all with the selection.
