Hi everyone.

I'm trying to use a ballnose endmill to create a rounded edge along a pocket. the problem I'm having is getting the tool to machine away the entire rounded contour. For some reason, the tool will not wrap around the profile. I've tried several things, to no avail.

I've attached the file.

Thank you

In your Setup, you have an issue. There is a missing body and I think that was contributing (but not the entire cause). I knocked out a quick screencast that will show you what I've done to achieve the results in the attached part:

Since you're mind is on the subject, would you know how I could get the tool to start at the bottom of the profile and machine in the Z+ direction? It's easier to maintain the correct cutting conditions, plus its less load on the tool.

I agree that it is better conditions. However, the Scallop has one method of reversing, and it don't work really well:

Selecting "other way" on the passes tab works actually.
