3d ramp problem. Unable to control entry location

Hi,

I'm having a problem getting 3D contours to ramp into the part without first plunging in through the top at several points. The problem seems to be that the Avoid Surfaces, at points, are considered too close to properly process. When I remove those problem surfaces however, it creates problems elsewhere, as pictured below. Any alternatives? Just trying to get the entry path to work similarly to how it starts, throughout.

@Anonymous Thanks for posting your question to the forum.  Would you be able to attach the Fusion 360 file to the forum post?  I'd be happy to look at your setups and provide some strategies if you can share the file.  I'm looking forward to your reply and thanks again for being a member of the community!

Hi Matthew,

thank you for the offer but I am hesitant to post that information publicly. I have had some people make it clear they will try to duplicate my products given the opportunity. Would the details of all the selected toolpath options be enough information?

Thanks!

@Anonymous That's totally understandable.  Feel free to private message me the file if you'd like to go that route.  From the images that you've attached, this could be an issue that development should be made aware of.  It's hard to make suggestions from the images, but I would check to see how your model and stock are defined in your setup.  Also, rather than choosing surfaces to avoid, try choosing the surfaces you want to touch.  That might help you out.

I have tried most settings that seem even remotely related to surface interaction. I cannot tell you what changed since yesterday but I was able to get things working by choosing different avoid surfaces. Here is a link

This is an example part I made to share. It's not the same thing Im working on but it demonstrates the same problem

I didn't work the first 100 times but I did this time. a functioning and non functioning selection is shown

I think a "enter from outside the part" option would solve the confusion
