2D Contours change when design is saved

I've just started seeing this quite infuriating problem that when I save and re-open a design, the contours selected for 2D contour (possibly others, this is what I've noticed) operations are changed. 

I have a bunch of 2d contour operations, each tracing a separate hole, plus a final chamfer of all of them. I save the design, close, and reopen it. The toolpaths are still the same as what they were before, but if I open and look at the operation, they have now all been changed to select a completely different hole. If I regenerate the toolpaths, they are regenerated incorrectly. The attached screencast should illustrate what happens.

I've also noticed that I see the same thing if I open existing designs that I have already successfully sent to the machine. When I look at them now, the toolpaths look correct after opening, but holes that were selected as part of contouring operations have been lost.

Hopefully this is something that can be fixed quickly, since there's a significant risk of generating incorrect parts or crashing the machine if toolpaths just go missing.

Seems like a big deal to me, too!

What is the message displayed when you click on the exclamation point on the toolpath after you regenerate it? (as seen in the last few seconds of the screencast)

The error says "failed to generate passes". Presumably this is because it's selected the same contour 5 times.

Thinking odd patterning, Mark? I wonder if parametric sizing relating to the offending diameter could interrupt the geometry selection.

Yes I'm wondering if there's a recalculation going on, or if using Compute All might find of fix the problem.

It's pretty simple. A box, a rectangular pattern of points, and a hole operation.

Well, compute all didn't solve anything on my end.

Changing Extents to All seems to fix it don't know why it should make any difference though. After changing to all you'll have to reselect all the curves in the ops but after reselecting it all seems to work. I found with your file every time I ran compute all the edge changed after changing to All the edges stayed selected.

Interesting. That works for me, too. However, in another design I already have extents=all but compute all still breaks the contour selection.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for looking into it. Do you have any idea of a time frame for this bug to get fixed? It's extremely easy to miss that some contour has been lost and thereby ruin a part now.
