2D Contour Tab Positioning

Hello,

I'm facing a weird problem. I have a component in whinch part of the outline is a spline. I need to insert tabs for keeping the piece in place during machining.

Insert tabs "by distance" works, but tabs positioning is not ideal. As it is not possible to move or delete those tabs, I tought the solution would be to insert tabs "at points".

Amazingly, it seems that Fusion does not allow the positioning of tabs on splines. On straight lines it is straightforward, but clicking anywhere on the spline contour does not result in anything.

Has anyone faced this problem ? Can you suggest any way to circumvent the problem ?

Never had that problem are you able to post a model with this problem To do this Go to File -> Export and save as a .F3D Archive File and attach it to your next post

Thanks for your reply. Attached is a sample file showing the the impossibility to place tabs manually on a spline contour ("by distance" tabs work fine).

Just to be sure the problem wasn't my original component, I extruded a simple body with two straight edges, a spline curve and an elliptical hole.

I can easily insert tabs on the straight edges and on the ellipse, but not on the spline.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Although it wouldn't let me place them along the edge, I was able to create a new sketch with some points that are coincident to the spline feature and use those as tab locations:

Not saying this is perfect, but at least gets you somewhere right now.

Thanks for this! I run into the same problem frequently and hadn't thought of this technique. Maybe someday we won't need the extra step.
