2D Chamfer simulation does not match part

Hi,

I am trying to create a chamfer at .0045 around this part and simulation appears to be correct but part is way off (pics below). I have triple checked the tool height and not the problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

There's a few reason this could happen.

  • You have set your tool as a sharp point in fusion but in reality its has a flat on the end, or has been chipped. this will cause the chamfer to be too deep.
  • There is extra stock on the top of the part that hasn't been faced off giving the appearance of the chamfer being too large.

If that doesn't help, you can share the file here and we can see if its anything to do with settings there
