2D Adaptive Clearing - Avoidance Boundaries

Is there an option to specify keep-away or avoidance geometry in the 2D Adaptive Clearing toolpath similar to the option in Mastercam's Dynamic 2D toolpath?

Here is a screenshot of the problem I'm having. I can't find a way to have greater control over the lead-in functionality for the 2D Adaptive Clearing toolpath. Either setting an avoidance boundary to  have the toolpath simply avoid the collision area or having more options to control the lead-in specs would be very helpful in this situation. Changing the lead-in length doesn't seem to make a difference - whether I set it to .050 or .001.

I believe you will want to use 3D adaptive in this case.  It will avoid the model.  2D toolpaths aren't aware of the model...only user inputs

Hi @bretv,

2D operations only folowing the geometry that is selected. So it is possible to Mill true the part.

For 3D operations you specify the area you like to Mill and the operation looks at the model where it can Mill.

If you can share your model we can take a look at this issue if it is possible to solve within this 2D operation.

Hi narzinskin and Marco - Thanks I'll try the 3D strategy. Marco, At this point, I can't share the model. 

 

Autodesk should consider adding avoidance region capability similar to the 2D dynamic toolpath offered by mastercam
