Workflow Stage Reminder - Open Task Notification

Dear Fusion Lifecycle Team,

It would be great if there would be out of the box solutions for open Task (milestone date) reminders. Rather than notifying users in the determined cycle time, it would be great to be able to customize your notification/escalation. Would be great to be able to say:

Reminder send out -5 days prior milestone "complete" due date OR Reminder send out on due date OR Reminder send out +5 days post milestone "complete" due date. 

We made use of scripting to make this happen but this work around could have been avoided with this new desired feature. In my opinion this is something which should be available out of the box once you create the workflow and the various escalations.
