When populating a workspace the import tool is great for a mass import. However using import for a record revision bump to a legacy revision (i.e straight to rev D) is not so helpful.
Using the import tool to do a revision bump will generate a new record, however all links and attachements that are on the previous version are not copied across to this new record. Up revising a record using a change order will also copy links and attachments however the default is to automatically bump to the next revision. Changing this tenant wide gives the ability to enter a manual revision, this is great for a handful of records but doing a mass revision bump it just doesnt work.
A simple fix for this is to open access to the 'From' & 'To' columns in the managed items tab for scripting. Doing this would allow an on demand script to parse down the list, read a legacy revision value field and then update the 'To' column. This would make the initial record setup so much easier for new users of fusion.
