Integral DRM for .stl files

Integral DRM for .stl files

I've built a model RAF turret for my hobby of RC flying, that I'd like to be able to sell as access to an .stl file for customers to use at some point in the future. (I am not yet ready to do so). I'd like to protect myself in due course from two eventualities, unlicensed use of my designs, and my designs being used for unlicensed derivative use.

It would be awfully handy if Fusion360 had a means to password-protect an .stl file, and then send it to a remote customer, who then would be licensed for a very limited number of prints from that .stl before it relocks, and/or a short period before the file self-sterilises to be unusable. This would prevent unlicensed copying of the file whilst enabling a used fair-usage in the case of a print-failure. Such a system would also make Fusion 360 the premium CAD software, as designers need to be able to market designs without losing control of their designs to those of more elastic ethical standards...
