to create a flat pattern we use the help of a flange. however some surfaces dont seem to show their flat pattern even though they are converted into a sheet metal part. (using the join option during thicken tool in the sheetmetal environment. thickness is noted with default name in parameters for example: d487 . to ensure even angled surfaces to combine.)
sadly this isnt a guaranteed solution and my idea might have the answer.
what if we could use the loft tool (similar to the surface environment where lofting lines is possible to create surfaces.) to create flanges.
i understand the definition of a flange, however if fusion 360 could flat pattern a flange created by a loft in the sheet metal environment. it would change the game.
in my case the deformation of a flat pattern using the simple surface flat pattern tool in meshmixer causes for inaccurate flat patterns. In order for me to achieve the right flat sheet pattern, fusion needs to be able to calculate the thickness of the material and the angle of the curve rather than a bend in other cases.
