Hello, as a follow up to my prior posted problems I would like to propose the following improvements to the GUI interface, but first a little mathematical pretext is needed:
Movements are algebraically not the same as rotations:
- Movements have a commentative structure, the order in which they are applied does not matter.
- Rotation are non-commutative, the order in which they are applied matters.
Please do not merge these operations into one action, it will not work well with user parameters and give your software engineers extra headache for merging concepts that should not be merged anyway.
In conclusion, please factor the rotation part out of the movement GUI option, rotations should be an extra option, with an extra symbol in the feature history. They are mathematically distinct entities in a very precise sense. Well you can merge them like commonly done in 3D-Graphisc using projective geometry and 4-dimensional vectors, but users will not be able to intuitively enter correct user parameters with formulas then. Doing this separation is likely to instantly fix the prior by me reported issues with movement and user parameters.
PS: I can only select the Fusion 360 Manage Forum, not the Fusion 360 forum for posting ideas. Is this correct?
