Allow displayed docs hosted on other file storage systems

I have a doc on one-drive. I'd like to embed it in plm360. It'd be nice to be able to put an iframe or html in text portions.

Hi Dave,

I appreciate you submitting your idea to the Idea Station.

Currently our PLM system allows users to input a URL - hyperlink that will redirect you to another location or site.

This is use to point to internal site, dropbox, or box. 

Also currently the ability to create an embedded iframe already exist.

Please provide more information and/or use case, in order for me to better understand your submission.

What might work for you is to separate out the text from the link or iframe. Something like this--

Here is the display that includes an iframe.

Here is the edit mode for this section:

Here is the Workspace Layout for this section which includes a Visibility=Edit Only field called "(Edit the Link)" where users input a URL, and an Edit=False field called "Link" that provides the active link to the object.

Here is the field definition for the "Link" field showing the following simple computed field formula: 

'<iframe src="' || ENTER_THE_LINK || '" </iframe>'
