Shop system software

I am trying to connect all systems CAD/CAM and.........Shop System Software.

The majority of PLM and PDM software out there just help document the life of a part......that is useful for OEM.

What about the job shop that creates parts for other customers. Our interest of course is the design of the part, proper revisions levels, approval of design changes from customers, and sharing the files with the shop floor to view the design and create the part.

What is missing in many CAD PLM PDM is the capture for us to  Estimate the part, Receive a purchase order, create a work order, create a router, time collection at each work station (EX. CAD,CAM,Laser, Water Jet, Plasma, Mill, Lathe, Press brake, rolling, finishing, assembly, welding, etc.) purchase material and components, save relevant data such as welding procedures or material certifications, QC, shipping and receiving.

I would guess that the majority of Fusion users are Job Shops that would need this type of software linked to fusion 360 for seamless data transfer.

I don't believe Fusion Lifecycle can do this so I propose Autodesk creates a new Fusion system. Maybe call it Fusion Shop System.

Easy way would be for Autodesk to purchase a company like  E2 and modify it to fit the Fusion family of products.

E2: http://www.shoptech.com/e2-shop-system/

Would love feedback on this.

Thank you

bryan5 this is a space that we are super interested in and think there is tremendous value in a solution like this. Autodesk is very interested in moving towards production and manufacturing capabilities so this is a timely inquiry.

You mentioned several specific capabilities that you would think add value and I am interested in how you would prioritize those. Like are estimation, quote, and order management more or less important than work order and the shop traveler (router). I know you need to do all these things to run a business but some of these capabilities are closer to our traditional offerings than others.

Can you elaborate a little more on your current machine shop environment and what processes you are using today?

Thanks!

Thank you for the reply mcmahor,

I will type up the work flow and process and send them to you.

Would you like me to post them here, e-mail them to you?

Thank you

What I will do to is create a document that will highlight the flow of a job through a shop. This will show the functionality needed.

Have a good weekend

Ryan,

Attached is a work flow summary and chart. This would show the steps that I would see that need to be accessed in a shop system software. I will also send this to you via private message.

Let me know if this helps

Please give me feedback and if you want to further discuss contact me.

Thank you for your time,

Bryan Lagrange

Hi bryan5,

I am a technical specialist for our Fusion Lifecycle and Fusion Production products. I would like to have an opportunity to talk to you about our Fusion Production product.

We have fully integrated our F360 CAM products (PowerMill and FeatureCAM) to Fusion Production that gives you the ability to estimate the part, create a work order, create a router, estimate time collection at each work station, save relevant data such as welding procedures or material certifications to job sheet, QC, shipping and receiving.

Please let me know the best way to start the conversation. Below is my contact information:
