Manually Assign Item Number

Can you manually assign a unique item number to your part in the manage extension or are you required to let the manage extension assign one for you? I ask because we already have a part/item numbering scheme and am wanting to know if the manage extension will allow us to continue using it before purchasing the module.

I would like to know this also.  We also currently have a database of products with part numbers allocated to them.

If my component is a M6 Washer I would like to assign the current allocated part number to it not a new number.

At this time, Manage Extension is generating the item numbers automatically and there is no option to manually set the item number. However, given the interest in this idea, we may consider adding such an option in the future. Thanks for bringing it up!

Thank you for your response to this and I believe this would be an important addition to the Manage Extension as it is currently the situation our company is in.(We do currently use the extension.)

I'm sure it is also the same for any existing company with a product database or existing fusion user.

Thanks for bringing this. Along with this I really hope to see a directory that includes PART NUMBER corresponding to the FILE NAME.
