Hello,

Can anyone help point me to an explanation of the difference of these in fusion manage?

I cannot see anything in the documentation?

Thanks,

Vault Items were added to the tenants along with the standard powerPLM connector from coolOrange, to allow for an easy connection with existing Vault environments. This workspace should be used to match the engineering BOMs provided by Vault.

The Items workspace can be used in addition to the previous one, enabling to build the manufacturing BOMs. These BOMs can reuse the Vault Items in order to define the manufacturing process of a product which might be different from the engineering BOM. Upon approval of the Items BOMs, the given data can be pushed to ERP (including Items and Vault Items).

Based on customer feedback and to better align with existing environments, the setup of standard tenants has been changed in the meantime. The latest Fusion Manage tenant template (which has been developed in 2023) does no longer include the Vault Items workspace**, it only provides the Items workspace. To keep compliance with the Vault connector, the Items workspace now provides all the fields required in a dedicated PDM section. As a result, both EBOMs and MBOMs will be stored in the same workspace now. Customers that prefer the separate workspaces still can download the Vault Items from the Fusion Manage Template Library (formerly known as App Store).

** Please keep in mind that while this new setup with a single Items workspace is enabled for customer trial tenants already, the publication of this new template for production environments is still pending. As a reference, here are the changes to be applied with the new template (see column 2023) - it will also include some standard template processes that can be downloaded from the template library already today.
