When I create a new item, but take too long before clicking save it just clears all fields.

Because of the audit trail, I prefer to get my change in on a single save, but if I take too long I lose everything.

Is there anyway to avoid it just clearing all entered data?

You could use the import tool and create the item with all the required data .Have you considered using the Importer?

Thank you !

one workaround is that you open another tab, open some other item, and refresh that tab before it time out, thus your session will not time out when you save in the new item tab.

I guess if I install some auto refresh app on the 2nd tab, then I could keep it alive...

All a bit of a work around.

What happens to me often is that I'm entering a new record into fusion describing an issue or nonconformance that I have just discovered. I like to get them into fusion as soon as possible (trying to get away from post-it).

Before I finish, there is a phone call or someone has an urgent issue. By the time I get back I have lost track of time and if I try to save everything is lost.

I understand that 'cloud applications' does impose some limitations on user friendliness, but if there is a solution I would suggest for Autodesk to look into it.

I assume once your record is saved, it is available for the public to see and use?  Here we have allowed our users to input info and click save.  The state of the record is "Initiated".  When the user completes the entire record, they click in the workflow "Done" and then the state of the records goes to, "Released".

Not sure if that strategy can be applied in your situation.
