Derived fields not updating

I'm having an issue with derived fields not updating. When I test the issue on a smaller scale in my sandbox there doesn't seem to be any issues. The only real difference I can see is the quantity of checkboxes and single line text fields that I'm using. The issue is not consistent either. The derived information will some times come through and other times not. Sometimes when we update fields the previous derived information will disappear and we may or may not get the most recent edited information come through on the records. Any ideas where I should start looking?

If I'm using workflow locking, could this be part of the issue?

James,

Could be, however more information needs to be gathered…

Will the same thing happen if there is no workflow locking?

Also how many fields are you trying to derived?

What happens if a workflow is not being used?

I have 29 derived fields. I tried the workflow locking theory but that doesn't seem to be the issue. The workflow doesn't seem to be the issue.

The only difference I can really think of is that other users are entering the information that is derived. I'll have someone else enter some information in the sandbox and let me retest that.

That would cause confusion.

Have you tried setting the derived fields to non-editable?

That setting isn't available for derived fields.

James,

Did this issue settle down for you or are we still seeing some problems with it?

I believe what he is trying to say, correct me if I'm wrong, is that when he changes the value in Work Space A (WS) and in WS B is a derived field, the actual derived field changes, but the pivot doen't. Am I right?

If this is the case, I upload a new idea in the "Idea Station" saying that the pivot should be updated. Because now the pivot is a static value.

You can go ahead and comment the idea so it has more support and gets implemented

Yes, I think you understand my issue. I'll upload a couple of screen shots that point missing information. Thanks for the ideastation help.

The newer records entered this week don't seem to be having any issue.
