Conditionally Required Value - is not null

Hi guys,

I have a field where I want to make required when another field "is not null".  Is there a simple "is not null" condition I can put here.  See below image.  Thanks.

Could you consider doing the validation check on a workflow transition? (in a validation script).

I could in a validation script of the item. I thought maybe it could be done without scripting.

Try using the 'If One Than Other' validator instead.

Tested it out and should work for you - set up the If One Than Other on a field and if I fill in a value there but not the other I get the warning.

Pictures or it didn't happen!

Hi Michelle,

In my dependency validation list I have

Both or None
Conditionally Required
One of Three Not More
One or The other, Not Both

Are these the same ones you see?

What's the field type for your Tracking# field?  I see the 'If One than Other' for the single line text field type:

Both or None could also work  - I put that validator on my Facility4 integer field (against Product Line) and if I fill out Facility4 and not Product Line I get a message:
