Folder Permissions

Hello,

My company really needs some more granular/refined permissions structures in Fusion Team.

At the moment, the root level of our team is our company, with departments within as a project. We want to have a project called 'Part Library', containing all of our common components. If I make someone an editor of this, they can mess with the library or add something to it that might not meet our CAD standards. If I make them a viewer, they can't then see the project in the desktop interface, and so can't reference the parts in designs. I really need another level of permissions between full edit and viewer - 'read only' basically.

I also need to be able to control access to folders within a project, as a certain design or Project might be private to a few people, but other things with the dept might be open.

I read last year that such a feature might be on the roadmap - but there is so much material online I can't wade through it to find an up to date roadmap to check. Anyone know where I would find a roadmap with these details please?

Hi @SimonPettitt
These features are definitely on the way! They were announced in a webinar (today actually!) for education users only since they are commonly needed for classrooms and class groups. I am not sure when or if these features will be rolled out to everyone else but the features include a "Reader" role, where members of a team can open a file in the desktop, but are unable to save the file and also provide folder level permissions that can be edited!

check out this AKN article about it and I guess keep an eye out for the all-member release!
