A project in my editable documents list is stuck as a ghost file. How do I get rid of it?

I opened a file for a phone holder in Fusion 360 and now it keeps a version of it in my editable documents that is perpetually trying to load but won't. It gives me no options to delete it or make it read-only, so it counts as one of my 10 editable documents but I can't do ANYTHING with it. I tried to redownload the same file hoping it would load and I could then delete it but that didn't work, and trying to force it to save as the same file name doesn't give me any warnings about similar file names, as if the other doesn't even exist. Also, the file has already been deleted from my Fusion hub. How do I go about clearing a ghost file?

Going the route of %appdata% to get to the login_ActiveDocuments file was definitely the easiest route, and I thought it fixed the issue, but the ghost project comes back every time Fusion goes back to online mode.

Same. Does not show in my editable list, but one file is still stuck.

Do a Clear Cache Data under Support & Diagnostics. That removed the spinning wheel, and I could then delete the offending file.

Still there, no suggested solutions have worked permanently. Goes away temporarily but comes right back after fusion is closed then goes back online.Screenshot 2025-09-04.png
