How can I simultaneously replace 0805 resistors with other 0805 resistors from another library at Fusion Electronics?
Background:
I need to change an assembly from reflow soldering to wave soldering. This assembly is equipped with SMD on the bottom side and with some THT connectors on the top side. In order to solder everything at once, the SMDs should be glued because of the subsequent wave soldering.
The components initially used do not have any adhesive points defined in layer 35 or 36 (adhesive layer).
I exported all the components from the circuit diagram into a new library and inserted the adhesive dots into this new library so that I could create an adhesive template later. Unfortunately, I took the components from a library supplied with Fusion (rcl.lbr), which I cannot edit. Hence the export of the relatively few different parts into a new library.
Is there a way to replace, for example, all 0805 resistors in one go with the resistors from the new library or do I really have to change component by component using "Replace"?

We do have an action that might help you! If you right click on one of the parts and hit "Swap Library", this will open a dialog and allow you to swap all the parts from one library with corresponding parts from another library. There are a couple of rules to it; it needs to swap all the parts which are from that library, thus all the parts from that library in your design must also exist in the target library. Also, currently, you can only swap with a target library that does not already exist in your design (although that restriction will be lifted in our next release). many thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately it did not work. The error probably lies in my problems understanding the
connections between librari.io, Fusion Team and the library manager. Although I uploaded
the new library to library.io and downloaded it again in the board editor, even when I
replace a component individually in layer 36, the glue dots that I had installed in all
components in the new library do not appear.

Well the good news is that it sounds like the swap command should be able to help you fix all the parts at once in your case. The question now, if I understand correctly, is why the Swap or Replace command is not actually changing anything. The relationship between Fusion and Library.io libraries can be confusing, but in essence right now they are treated as entirely different libraries. Did you try swapping (or replacing) with the parts from the Fusion Team library in which you made the edits? If you are only working in Fusion, sometimes it is easier to just swap to using Fusion-type libraries, and not worry about library.io.
I just realized something.
In the library I have the SMDs on the TOP side. The glue point in the GlueTop layer (35).
The component is on the bottom side of the board. Therefore, the glue point should be in
the GlueBottom layer (36). However, with “Show Layer” there is only one layer 35. No layer 36
is created.
If I right click on the component on the bottom side and then click "Show Footprint" the footprint
opens and the glue dots are visible as expected. When I look at the properties of the component in
the board, the new library is also displayed. From my point of view, there is a mistake in Fusion
that layer 36 is not created in the board when I use "Replace" to replace a component that is on
the bottom side.

We're looking into these issues related to these layers right now. For now I think it's best to also create layer 36 in the way I showed you yesterday.
