Pins have been created, but only Pads are listed for connecting a custom part

I have followed the steps to create a custom part, and Fusion seems to linked my symbol to the layout to the 3d package. However, the pins of the schematic are not listed when I attempt to connect the pins to the pads. Only the pads are listed. What step did I miss?pins have been created but none show up in connection utility.pngwhere are the pins.png

After you've created your symbol and device, you have to add the symbol to the device. You can do this with the Add button which is right besides the layer button in the toolbar.

You can use the same symbol for multiple devices, no need to create a new one for each device.

Thanks so much, thijs. I got this to work thanks to your input. If anyone from Autodesk reads these threads, perhaps they would consider attaching a link to this answer as part of the workflow dialog boxes, or some other form of guidance for the newbies. This is one of three trap doors I've managed to fall into and climb out of thanks to input from kind people like you.
