Now I'm ready to import my personal library.io but don't know how to do it. The option only appeard first time I ran F360 in the new version and I don't find it in any menu.

Could you please help me?

Hi Mario,

I'm happy to answer your questions. There's a workaround to let you import libraries again:

Step 1: Go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\Electron\<userid>\lbr

Step 2: Delete libraries.db

Step 3: Re-launch the Fusion and library importer notification will show up.

HOWEVER, doing this would lose all your "In Use" libraries meaning if you have a large collection of in-use libraries, you may need to add them back manually. Otherwise, if you really want to migrate Eagle libraries to Fusion, you can in-use them and create managed libraries, respectively. Then you should also be able to see them in Fusion.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

I meade a search on Electron folder for "libraries.db" and I found it on C:\Users\mjfbr\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\Electron\6P8FNTU355V5\lbr

Shall I delete it?

Thank you

Hi Mario,

Sorry for not making it clear. "6P8FNTU355V5" on your computer is the <userid> I meant. And you're in the correct directory.

Deleting libraries.db will let you import library again. But be aware of the caution I mentioned in the previous reply

Hope this helps.

Boyuan

Hi @mario.brizida ,

I'm glad this worked for you, but you shouldn't have to go through all that. Try using the import functionality in the Library Manager that might be easier 🙂

I'm on a Mac. How and where do I find  "import functionality in the Library Manager" in order to import my library dot io, in Fusion 360?

Hi Jeff,

If you try to open shared libraty, you will be prompted if you want to edit it, and if yes you should record it in your Fusion environment. After that you have your "local" editable libary, that could be syncronized with original library.io

Thanks for the reply. I think you've hit on my real problem. You mention the 'shared library' and the local Fusion environment and the 'local' editable library and the original library.io . So it's incomprehensible. I find that library.io is easy enough to upload to, but often, on some parts, it doesn't match with what I end up seeing on my fusion or eagle screens. I came up the great idea of trying to delete my local (whatever that really means) library item, and that solved one component, but only in one instance. I've got the same part in several orientations, by the time I get it to Fusion. Why is this, and how can I better understand how to deal with the myriad of library locations? I'm willing to bet that hundreds of blogs about the Fusion and Eagle libraries center on similar misunderstanding of the libraries.

I hope you can relieve me of this confusion, because I've struggled with this problem for hundreds of hours.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

You can always filter the libraries you want or need to use.

On Fusion Electronics, on PCB or Schematics go to "Library" and then to "Open Library Manager "

There you have all your libraries, and you can turn on or off the libaries as you wish.

Hope was useful.

Thanks, Mario. I guess I'm too close to the trees to see the forest. I'll try your suggestion today. I'm sure you must be right , and appreciate your help.
