Hi All,

I have selected metric units in my main preferences. However, all the PCB related dimensions are in thousanths of an inch. I have not used that unit since the 1970s. Is there a way to set the dimensions in metric units.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

I don't agree with this but I'm pretty sure this is how it works...

Your units set in preferences isn't carried over to the electronics side, this is managed with the grid setting, but it seems that each "module" can be set individually, so you could have your schematic in imperial, PCB in metric and library components in mic just to make working in this environment that bit more challenging than it already is!

If you set the grid to be metric in the schematic and PCB then it should continue to be metric throughout the design, but any new designs will need to be set correctly, you'll also need to make sure to change the grid each and every time you create a library entry.

This way of working is definitely flawed, and I'm pretty sure there is a bug linked to the saving issue I'm having that is also resetting the grid back to mil, which is really quite infuriating.

I've noticed that in the DRC, while the default tolerances might be in mils, they can be easily replaced simply by typing in e.g "0.06 mm". It seems that Fusion recognises this and changes the units to mm automatically
