How to search for library with desired component?

Hello.

I'm not a professional, so maybe my question is trivial. I'm struggling with finding library witch contains very popular temperature sensor DALLAS DS18B20 with also typical package TO-92. Library should contain 3D model. Could anybody show me step by step how to find this component in Autodesk resources?

Of course I can create every component from scratch, but that is not the point.

Hi @_Marek ,

The component you are looking for can be found in our (Fusion Electronics) "Sensor" library, but it looks like we don't provide the package you are looking for.  I see in the SparkFun Sensor library they do provide the component and the package that you need, but that library unfortunately does not provide a 3D model.  When a library is missing a 3D model for a package, the easiest way to attach a STEP file is to use the "Add Custom 3D Model" option.

Unfortunately right now most of our component searching capabilities are only able to search through the content of libraries which you have marked as "in use" in the library manager (thus downloaded locally).  We are working on developing infrastructure that will allow you to search through all components in the cloud, and determine which libraries they reside in; but it will take some time before these capabilities are ready.  If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out!

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. Great to hear that new searching for library by component name is under development. In my opinion I will be a game changer.

BTW
You mentioned that there is no DS18B20 package/footprint. I did it for myself by linking Sensors (Fusion Electronics) library with my updates. But in this case many developers will follow this way unnecessarily again. I had to generate whole JST XH/PH connectors libraries etc. Is there any option to participate in public libraries development?
