How to move all PCB components, or change origin

Hi,

Fairly newbie question, but I just can't find the answer. I've set up my PCB the way I like it and shrunk down the size as much as possilble. Unfortunately, I did this away from the origin. I'm not struggling to shrink the board size.  If I try and change the 20 Dimension, it CUTS my design out of the board, rather than cutting TO the board.   How do I either:
a) move all components, tracks, labels, etc., down towards the origin, or 
b) change the origin to the bottom-left of my board and then cut it to size

I just can't find this in any help or tutorial (or at least, cant get the tools to work right), most likely as the tutorials assume you do everything correct! Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I eventually found it. If you get stuck like this, on the 2D PCB design, delete ALL the "20 Dimension" green lines... absolutely all of them.  There's some sort of black magic on how it decides what is board and what is cut off, so don't try and fix existing lines.  You should end up with an "infinite" board.  Search again for green lines as on the white background they can be easy to miss. Delete any others that you find. Even if you have a random line segment well outside your PCB it seems to mess things up.   Next, on the command line, type "mark", this will let you set a new mark from which coordinates will run from (not necessary, but will make your life easier when using the grid to size). Click on the correct place for your bottom-left origin of the board. Redraw your new PCB boundary lines.  Drawing the lines themselves also seems pretty finnicky.   I still couldn't work out how to jog all components slightly (I would have liked to have them exactly centre on the board), as the drawing of the dimension lines seems to want to snap to your grid... but close enough for what I'm doing.

We have delivered a new function with latest Fusion360 update published today. (version 2.0.12157+)

Position and orientation of PCB coordinate system are allowed to be edited inside 3D PCB environment if 3D PCB  contains associated outline that cones from other Fusion design. After that push back to 2D would apply the origin change. For standalone 3D PCB, we also allow coordinate system defining during 3D PCB creation from sketch profile.

In case you are modifying an existing standalone PCB, recreate outline on dimension layer could be a solution.

Hi,

Rather than start a new post, I had this same issue and following your advice couldn't get the board aligned in 2D PCB as i could only pick a new origin on the board (I may be doing it wrong). In the end I moved the outline and pushed to 3D which worked great inside Fusion. However once exported as Gerber  the origin was way off as it used the 2D origin so I just stared over. In hindsight I should have placed the components better but if I design a more complex board or just needed to nudge a group of components over starting over isnt really a good option. Is there really no ability to move a selection/group of componnets and traces? Having used Kicad and Eagle I always find this useful.

Hi @jstod,

I hope you're doing well. Fusion has the same Group Move workflow that EAGLE does. Form a selection that contains everything you want to move. Select the MOVE command and then Ctrl+right click on one of the group members.

Thank you that worked great I forgot the "ctrl" part I've been using Kicad over eagle (plugin reasons) for last 12 month and was just using right click.
