Hi, first off I am VERY new to PCB design, so apologies if this is a dumb question. I've been searching for the last couple of days for an answer to this, but I can't really find anything. Basically, I am creating a VERY simple PCB board for a project (see attachment) where I'm basically going to have some pogo pins soldered to my board, and then on the backside of the board I will have individual wires soldered to the holes next to each pin. In total there will be 8 pogo pins with of course 8 wires then connected to those.
To design this board, I simply just used PINHD-1x1 from the library for each hole, then connected each pair of holes. When I finished I feel like I had exactly what I wanted, except for one thing... the octagonal copper pads around each hole. I've looked at almost every PCB I can find around me and all the pads on the holes seem round. Also, given that the pogo pins I will be soldering to the board have a round flange, I really want the round pad so I get the best contact possible.
One of my google searches led me to downloading the "eagle" testpad component libary and using the "TP" component from it, however not only did it end up giving me a larger hole, but the pad was also still octagonal on it.
Like I said, I'm very new to this and if this is a stupid easy answer/fix I apologize, but if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum! First of all, never apologize for asking any question here. In our respective disciplines, we all had to start out not knowing anything, and leaning on Community is (in my opinion) one of the best ways to learn. 🙂 So, good luck and good learning!
@Pieter.Jan.Van.de.Maele do you know anything on this one?

Hi there!
You can configure the shapes of your pads in the Design by going to the DRC (Design Rule Check) dialog and configuring the "shapes" option.
Also note that "first" here means the first pad (you can set that in the library editor). Some people prefer their first pad to have a different pad shape so that it is clear how to orient during assembly, however that can be achieved in other ways as well (silkscreen etc.)
Hope that helps!
