Edit Schematic after Board is done

I created the schematic, then the board and did all my traces.  I was asked to clean up the schematic with labels.  I had used all wire (Net) direct connections.  So I connect a label at the 2 end points and they both show the same name.  But when I delete the wire between, the 2 labels rename themselves and the  trace is removed from the board.  Is there a way to get around this?  I have tried different approaches but it always renames the net and removes the trace.  Thanks.

Hi @ljbdeshler,

So the problem here is that you are deleting the net. The labels on their own, don't define a net connection, there always needs to be a little stub of net for the connection to be defined.

Use the slice tool to break the net into two pieces make sure the names of both pieces are preserved. Then use the MOVE command to shorten both pieces until you just have a nub on each end. This will minimize any traces being deleted on the board.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
